MAIN TRUNK LINE
NORMAL SERVICE OPERATING Flood damage to Hie Main Trunk railway linn at Puketutu, nine miles south of Tn K.uiti, where a wash-out occurred on Friday, was repaired yesterday, and expresses last night were again running to their regular timetable. The line was scoured out on each side of a culvert by an accumulation of flood waters, and it was necessary to re-timber and ballast the track before the heavy locomotives could use it. The limited express from Wellington was an hour late arriving at Auckland yesterday morning, delay being caused by the pushing of carriages over the weakened section. Work was completed by 10 a.m., after which services were normal.
