LOST IN BOAT
ELDERLY MAN'S FATE VERDICT OF DROWNING BODY NOT RECOVERED [flV TELEGRAPH—OWN CORRESPONDENT] WHITIANGA, Friday An inquest was hold at Whitianga today before Mr. George Darling, coroner, regarding the disappearance of .Mr. W. Sangster, aged 76, from Haliei on October 4, 1938. Constable L. N. Rose, representing the police, stated that Mr. Sangster left in an Bft. dinghy to fish oil' Haliei Beach and did not return. Extensive inquiries and searching had been carried out by himself , and others, and an aeroplane had been used to assist. Nothing whatever was found of his body, the boat or his belongings. The coroner returned a verdict that Mr. Sangster was accidentally drowned and that his body remained at tho bottom of the ocean.
