ULSTER POLLING DAY WOMAN MALTREATED MOTOR-CAR DESTROYED (Received February* 30, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, Feb. 10 Polling in the general election for the Ulster House of Commons passed off without incident yesterday until the evening, when a Belfast woman who was driving voters in a motor-car to a polling booth was held up by three men. The assailants pushed the woman into a house in the vicinity and set fire to her car, which was burned out. There were 21 unopposed returns. Sixty-four candidates contested the remaining 31 seats.

The Ulster House of Commons consists of 52 elected members. The last general election was held in 1933 as a result of which the state of the parties was: Unionists, 37; Nationalists, 9; Independent Unionists, 2; Labour, 2; Fianna Fail, 1; and Irish Republican Army, 1."
