I SYMBOL OF FRIENDSHIP ANGLO-FRENCH RELATIONS I SIGNIFICANCE EMPHASISED British Wireless RUGBY, Feb. 9 Referring to King George's projected visit to Franco to unveil tlie Australian memorial, the Daily Telegraph says Frenchmen need no reminder that Britons from lands separated from France hv distances far greater than tho Channel stood not so long ago by the side of France. Before beginning those still uncharted voyages overseas, for which more distant lands of the British Commonwealth hope, tho King will stand forth on French soil as head of the State, of the Dominions as well as of their Mother Country. The Daily Herald says the visit symbolises the deep and intimate friendship now existing between France and Britain.
PRINCESSES NOT GOING APPEALS FROM FRANCE LONDON, Feb. 9 It is understood that King George and Queen Elizabeth do not intend to take Princess Elizabeth and Princess Margaret to France in spite of appeals from the French newspapers to allow the children to accompany their parents:
DUKE OF GLOUCESTER INDIAN VISIT POSSIBLE LONDON, Feb. 9 The Daily Mail states that owing to the King deferring the Coronation Durbar, the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester may visit India for the polo season at Christmas.
