VISCOUNT NUFFIELD
ONE-DAY AUCKLAND VISIT ' ARRIVAL NEXT MONDAY A one-day visit to Auckland is to be ; paid next week by Viscount Nuffield,, who will arrive from Sydney by the Awatea on Monday afternoon and return by the same ship the following* afternoon. A cable message, which came from Sydney last night, stated that he « arrived there only yesterday afternoon by the Orient liner Onon from Kngland to attend the Australian 150 th anniversary celebrations as the guest of the New South Wales Government, and that he would sail by the Awatea, which leaves Sydney for Auckland today. x : > .':
Viscount Nuffield apparently is adhering to the schedule he planned some months ago. Early in November it was announced that he would pay only a flying visit to the Dominion, a:ad(thejfconly on business. According to his 6riginal plans he will leave Sydney by the Orion on February 23 for England. At the time of making those plans hesaid he had cancelled a projected voyage to another part of the world, so that he might be-able personally to associate himself with the Australian celebrations. Unfortunately, the length of his stay in both New Zealand and Australia was governed by the period he could afford to spare away from home.
