Mr. G. M. White has returned to Auckland after a seven months' business and holiday irisit to England and the Continent.
Mr. T. J. Watts, secretary of the United Fire Brigades' Association, was n passenger for Wellington by the afternoon express yesterday.
Squadron-Leader A. de T. Nevil], Air Force member for supply on the Air Board, was a passenger for the South last night on the limited express.
Mr. C. Ravnor White, of Wanganui, has been appointed organist and choirmaster •at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, Epsom, following the resignation of Mr. John Tait.
Mr. C. J. Pugsley, New Zealand manager of the Southorn Cross Assurance Company, Limited, arrived from Wellington yesterday and is at the Central Hotel.
Mr. C. G. S. Cartwright, of the staff of the Resident Commissioner at Ocean Island, and Mrs. Cartwright, arrived at Auckland yesterday afternoon by the motor-ship Triaster. They are at the Grand Hotel.
Mr. G. H. Bourne, manager of the Christchurch branch of the Bank of New South Wales, will leave shortly to take up a new appointment at llockhampton, Queensland..
Mr. Y r . Salek. of Auckland, has been appointed official representative of the Tauranga Deep Sea Fishing Club at the Australian competition, to be held in Sydney at the end of the present month. Dr. T. H. Pettit, of Auckland, will represent th 6 Russell Deep Sea Fishing Club.
Mr. A. J. Stafyyortliy will leave by the Awatea on Tuesday for a tour of Great Britain, the Continent. Canada and the United States. He will be accompanied by his wife and daughter. Mr. Stallworthy is making the trip partly for health reasons and partly to study political and administrative systems overseas. '
The Rev. J. Lawson Robinson, retiring Moderator of the Cbristchurch Presbytery, and minister of St. An-i -v drew's Presbyterian Church, been granted leave of absence from February 28 until November 30 by the ' Christehurch Presbytery. He intends to visit England. The Rev. J. A. Ashpr, ' formerly of Napier, will take Mr. Rob-." inson's place at St. Andrew's during his absence, and the Rev. A. C. Wat-' son will act as interim Moderator of the church.
