DISTRICT NURSING
NORTH SHORE SERVICE As part of its plans to provide a medical service on the North Shore, the Auckland Hospital Board last night appointed Mrs. G. McDonald to the position of district nurse there. The board received 13 applications for the position. The chairman, the llev. W. C. Wood, stated after the meeting of the board in committee that the appointment was regarded as the beginning of a medical service for the North Shore. There was no possibility of the board building a hospital there now, but it was determined to give some medical service.
Mrs. McDonald, who was trained at the Auckland Hospital, was with the Child Welfare Department for some years, and recently lias been conducting a private nursing home at Otaliuhu.,
