TEMPERANCE WORK
At a meeting of the Auckland district executive of the Women's Christian Temperance Union the president, Miss Reaa, welcomed the newly-elected organiser, Miss Appleby, who is visiting Auckland after four months' organising work in the South Island. Arrangements were made for a stall at the forthcoming Winter Show. Reports were received from the Bible in Schools League and from the National Council of Women concerning recent activities. Mrs. Williams spoke of the tour she had made with Miss Read in North Auckland, when different unions had been visited and the work discussed. Arrangements were outlined for a concert to be held in August to aid the union's funds.
