CARLTON CLUB'S SEASON A very successful season was recorded in t|ie report presented at the annual meeting of the Carlton Lawn Tennis Club. Iho roport Htated that the club was runner-up in the inter-club competition, for the Jordan Cup. A sound positiou waß revealed by the bulanco-Bheet. The following officers were elected: —1 atron. D"r. J. Kirkwood; president, Mr. T. Bryani vice-presidents, Mrs. F, Jeffries, Messrs. A. Coats, R. T. Carr, D. Kidd. F. Leachfield;- hon. secretary, Miss I\ Hamraoud; hon. treasurer, Mrs. F. Jeffries; lion.auditor, Mrs. D. Dickson; club captain. Mrs. p. Short; coach, Mr. D. Kidd; ground superintendent, Mr. T. Bryan; delegates to the Auckland Association, Messrs. IJ. Pert, D Dickson: committee, Messrs. D. Kidd. .D. Pert, D. Dickson, R. Stone, A. Smith, Mesdamea P. Greenland, f. Jeffries, L. Johnson, P. Short. The winners :■ of the club championships were as follows:—Men'e singles, D. Pert: Indies' singles. Miss 1». Jeffries; men's doubles, H. Backhurst and R. Stone; ladies' doubles. Mesdames Johnson and Short; combined doubles. Miss M. Bryan snd R. Stone. It was decided to open the eeasoa on October 6.
