MOTOR-CYCLE TRIAL
SUCCESSFUL EVENT HELD A successful outing was enjoyed b> members of the Auckland Motor-cycle Club on Sunday, wben the first reliability trial of the season was held. Altogether 22 members attended, 13 of whom were competitors and the others checks or passengers. All the 22 were awarded five points each toward the club cup. The winner was W. Tetlev (HarleyDavidson), who lost nine points. L. J. Nixon (8.5.A.) was second with the loss of 13 points, and J. R. Phillips (Humber) and 0. L. Cox (Velocette), who each lost 15 points, tiecl for third place. The route was from the city through Titirangi, Nihotupu and Swanson, to the Hobsonville air base, where niembers had lunch. The course included two observed clay sections and a watersplash. A list of all those who took part in the trial, with the numbers allotted to tlliem for the season, is as follows: W. Cowie, 14; L. J. Nixon, 15, entries; Hallam, 16, Stanley, 17; F. Zambucca, 18; R. Stephenson, 19; K. Shea, 20; G. Silk, 21; G. Bumby, 22; J. Anderson, 23; Tucker, 24, checks. The rules and route for the Fascoe Cup trial, to be held on August 10-11, will be discussed by riders at a meeting at the club's rooms on Monday night.
