TWELVE IN ONE ROOM
What lie desci-ibes as " appalling overcrowding " is referred to by Mr. Robert Mitchell, chief sanitary inspector of Dundee, in his annual report on local housing conditions, issued last month. He reveals that 12 persons occupy a one-roomed house —husband, wife, six sons and four daughters. The children's ages rnnge from 13 years to five months. The family has three beds in the room, and their income is only £2 a week. Another one-roomed house is occupied by a family of 10, while two houses, each of two rooms, are each occupied by 13 people.
