THE TE AWAMUTU BRANCH.

Tiio ninth annual meeting of the Te Awamutu branch of the Plunkct Society was well attended. The president, Mrs. 11. do L. Peake, presided. The annual report showed a year of quiet progress, and the treasurer's report showed the finances to bo in a satisfactory position, the credit baalnce being £558 12s 3d. The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mrs. C. G. Downes; president, Mrs. H. de Lacy Peake; vice-president, Mrs. 11. Y. Collins; secretary, Mrs. H. A. Swarbrick; treasurer, Mr. F. W. Bevin; auditor, Mr. D. Bockett; advisory committee, Rev. W, Butterworth, Drs. Roberton, llisken3 and Blundell, and Messrs. F. W. Bevin, J. Oliphant, J. G. Wynyard and S. A. Empson; committee, Mesdamea W. H. Mandeno, W. G. Macky, C. F. Battson, F. W. Bevin, W. Locke, N. F. Goodall, W. Glasgow, S. G. Broadbent, V. Fitzpatrick, S. A. Empson, J. F. Brooks, G. S. Clarke, A. L. Storey, A. H. Storey, W. Matthews, G. W. Mairs, T. L. Skerman, A. E. Richardson, A. A. Reese, J. Oliphant, W. Old, J. C. Montefiore, W. J. Melville, G. M. Wright, A. J. McGovern, J. W. McCarroll, W. H. Wood and S. C. Macky, with Mesdames F. J. B. Ryburn and H. Titmarsh representing the Ohaupo sub-branch. It was stated that the Pirongia residents are endeavouring to form a subbranch.
