AUCKLAND WINTER SHOW.
ROOT EXHIBITS FROM OTAGO.
REQUEST OF ASSOCIATION,
[by TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] DUJsEDIJv, Tuesday.
Iho secretary of the. Otago provincial executive of the Farmers' Union has received a letter from the secretary of tho Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association stating that for some considerable time the association lias not been satisfied with the root exhibits at the winter exhibition. With the object of enabling the people of tho Auckland Province to see what was being produced in Otago the Auckland Association would be very grateful if arrangements could be made to send several sacks of, say, two varieties of mangels, swedes and turnips to Auckland, for exhibition only. Tho association would undertake the staging of the display, including a bold sign stating whence the roots came, together with any other data which might be supplied as to manure and yield per •acre. The association would be prepared to pay freight charges up to about one ton.
Arrangements for securing a display are to be made by tho secretary of the Otago Fanners' Union and the secretary of the Otago Agricultural and Pastoral Association. No difficulty is anticipated in obtaining exhibits such as are desired.
