AN AFTERNOON TEA.
Much merriment characterised the " linen shower " which was given by the staff of the Young Women's Christian Association yesterday for Miss Joyce Potter, girls' work secretary, who is leaving shortly to be married. Members of the board, and of the Girls' Work Committee, were also present at the invitation of the organisers of the afternoon and a verv enjoyable time was spent by everyone. On behalf of the staff, Miss Jean Begg presented Miss Potter with a most attractive Vhina supper set. Accorn panicd by the good wishes of the gathering, and Miss Potter was also the recipient of delightful gifts in the. way of supper and afternoon cloths, d oylovs, trav cloths, pillowcases, guest towels, etc., as well as a bouquet of roses. During the afternoon Miss Olive Bishop sang, and competitions and an All Halloween game added to the merriment of the occasion. Much appreciated afternoon tea was served. Among the members of tho board who were present were Mrs. G. H. Wilson, Mrs. A. D. Campbell, Mrs. J. C. Dickinson, Mrs. R. A. Kenner, Mrs. Todd Smith, Mrs. E. G. Whitley, Mrs. F. C. WeVister, Mrs Dunn, Miss Good fellow, Miss Dempsev. Miss Button, and of tho Girls' Work Committee there were present Mrs. Bow. Mrs. Blayney, Mrs. Hunter, Mrs. Cable and Miss Taylor.
