SUBURBAN ASSOCIATION.

FIRST SERIES OF GAMES. SCOTT PASSES THE CENTURY. The Suburban Cricket Association's first series ol senior cricket matches was con' eluded on Saturday afternoon in fine but bleak weather and on wickets which were somewhat dear', owing to previous ratn. As on the opening day the conditions were more suited to the bowlers and accordingly some good averages were returned. The feature oi the day was the innings of 31. Scott, of the L. D. Nathan's B section senior' team Scott made 119 runs in about an hour and three-quarters, mainly by boundary hits, and thus won the association's b a 't for the first century of the season. His dismissal came when he was caught out by a team-mate who was fielding as a substitute for Railways. A very interesting game was witnessed between Ponsonby and United Suburbs at the Domain Ponsonby had its first strike of the season with United Suburbs' total of 112 ti pass, and, thanks to productive partnership by Wright, Roberts, Dickson and Stallworthy, won by 33 runs —a two-point wr. Harbour Boaru gained a three-point victory ovei Gleri Eden by the narrow margin of nine runs. The winners scored 75 and 54 against Glen Eden's two totals '■ of 60. There we -c no particularly good ! performances with the bat, but' Mann was in good form with the ball and captured 18 Glen Eder. wickets. An exciting game between Green Lane and Ellerslie realised two points for the former team Ellerslie made 128 in the first innings and after dismissing the opposing side for 135 compiled 78 for seven wickets This gave Green Lane a lead of seven runs on the first innings and tho chance of a three-point victory. The prospects wer bright for a time, especially during the stand of R. Robinson, but following his dismissal a rot set i in and with a score of 67 for nine wickets at the call of tinh Green Lane failed by five runs to obtain the extra point. In the B section Harbour Board B beat Ponsonby B by an innings and 52 runs to take three championship points. Gas Works, with totals of 106 and 124, secured a three-point win from Ellerslie, who scored 38 and 103, the margin being 89 runs in the aggregate. L. D. Nathan's ran up 288 runs, the best score of the day, against Railways, and won by 121 runs on the first innings—a two-point win. PONSONBY V. UNITED SUBURBS. United Suburbs.—First innings, 112.
