CANTERBURY NOTES. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.'] CHRIST CHURCH. Saturday. The threo-yoar-old trotter Kawhaki has left A. (I. Wilson's stablo and has gone to Auckland to bo trained by J. G. Robertson, who has been engaged by Mr. V. Casey as private trainer. Tho yearling by Ballin from Kawhaki'a dam will remain under Wilson's caro to be' prepared for tho three-year-old race, the New Zealand Trotting Stakes, a raco that Kawhaki won this season. The Southland pacer Downcast has joined A. Hendricksen's stablo. where he will soon havo the trotter Worthy Bingen as a male, G. S. Smith has recommissioned Bell Fashion and ho is also workinc Hypo during W. Kelsey'a ab3enco in Auckland. The young American trotting stallion. Real Gay. has boon thrown out of work as a result of a recent mishap, and ho will bo got. ready for the stud season, after which he may bo tried again on the race track. J. J. Kennwley has decided not to persevere further with Waitaki Girl, who baa been returned to her owner. The pacer Peter Bingen. who raced particularly well this season, has joined J. N. Clarke's active brigade at New Brighton, after a good spell. . The young pacer will not. be hurried during the winter months, but he will bo given light work and got read.y for solid training in the early spring. I'eier Bingen has done well during his spell, and has furnished into a commanding horse. Don Wild looks as though he ha« got. rid of tho troitblo which prevented him from beincc raced much this season. Ho seems to bo Quite sound, and he is being jogged about propiwratory to doing faster work when the spring arrives.. Naturally ho is vary much on the big sifVi at present. The American pacii<J mare. Biddy Logan, did not behave herseL too well in her race at, Ashburton last weok, but once she got on the journey she paced good and free. It seems as though sho would do better with plenty of racing, and. in tho meaartime E. j3erry intends starting her in all available races. threat Hope, who has been racing at Perth, whe,re ho distinguished himself by winning the Australasian Championship, is being brought back to New Zealand by J. Bryce. jun. Taraire will not return to tho Dominion, that horso having been sold to a West Australian sportsman.
