AUSTRALIAN BUTTER PRICES.
INCREASE TO 176s REPORTED.

WELLINGTON, Tuesday,
Reports in Wellington state that, under the new agreement between tho Australian Government and the Imperial authorities, the price to be paid for Australian butter this season is 1753 per cwt. Last year's price was 1615,' with a sharo of any profit on distribution, which brought the, actual price up to 170s. Tho now price represents an advance of about a halfpenny a pound, but the Imperial Government will retain the whole of any profits on distribution in the United Kingdom.
