RED CROSS CAMPAIGN.

THAMES, Monday. The King's Birthday was celebrated by a special effort to raise funds for the Red Cross, a sports meeting being held at the racecourse. The principal event was a lootball match between Thames and Te Aroha teams, comprising youths under 20 years of age. It was won bv the visitors by 8 points to 7. This was followed by a football tournament. A concert was held in the evening at the Central Hall, and was well attended, and added materially to the financial success of the dav's proceedings.
