HAMILTON", Monday. Tin? Minister for Lands, accompanied by Messrs. J. A. Young. M.P.. and R. F. Bollard. M P., motored to Puketaha, about seven miles from Hamilton, to-dav, and received a deputation. the members of which urged that the Government should <jiiirclia.se a block of 1000 acres of partlyimproved land in that district for subj dividing into a soldiers' settlement. The ; land was said to Vie some of the best in i the Waikato, and eminently suitable for : a soldiers' settlement. Mr. Guthrie adi vised the deputation to persuade the owner , to submit the property to the Government, . when its claims would be considered.
