CITY GROUP TOTALS 323.

NO SHORTAGE EXPECTED.

The Auckland military district's quota for the eighteenth reinforcements and the probationary non-commissioned officers for the twentieth reinforcements will leave for the Trentham and Featherston training camps to-day.

The quota for the whole of the district is 593, including 26 non-commissioned officers, and it is anticipated that the whole of this number will answer the roll call, so that the draft can be despatched at its full strength. The details of the four groups in the district are as follows :— No. 1, Auckland, Group : 16 non-com-missioned officers and 307 men, total 323 ; No. 2, Paeroa, Group : 1 and 48, total 49; No. 3, Whangarei, Group: 4 and 76, total 80 ; No. 4, Hamilton, Group : 6 and —, total 141.

As far as the City group is concerned, extra men have been called up in order to guard against the draft being sent away short of its full strength owing to men not putting in an appearand©. Any men who have not been called up, but who are prepared to go at very short notice, may parade at the recruiting station, and they will, if vacancies occur, be despatched with to-day's draft. 'Ihe train arrangements for to-day are that the men for the Mounted Rifles, Artillery, and Army Service Corps will leave by the 12.40 p.m. express for Featherston Camp, via Woodville. The men from the Whangarei Group will join the train at Auckland, and 11 men from the Paeroa Group and 15 men from the Hamilton Group will join the train at Frankton Junction. Captain W. Q. Kewish will be the officer in charge. The men for the engineers branch of the service and the infantrymen will leave by special train at 2.50 p.m. for the Trentham Camp. The City men will number 284, while 38 from Paeroa and 122 from Hamilton will join the train at Frankton Junction. The officer in charge will be Major W. R. Walker, assisted by Captain J. Coleman, medical officer from No. 1 Group. The 8.50 p.m. express will convey the No. 3 Group quota of the engineer's, infantrymen, and ambulance, and al-o ihft ambulance men from Nos. 1 and 2 Group, the total number of men to leave by this train being 84. The men comprising the City Group will assemble at the Drill Hall at 9.30 a.m., and after the roll call will bo dismissed until 1.30 p.m. Farewell addresses will be given, and the recruits will be headed by the Garrison Band when they march to the station. The platform will be closed to the public at 1.30 p.m. until the troops have entrained and the whole of the baggage has been put on the train. The platform will then be opened to the public.
