NO ULTERIOR MOTIVES.

London, December 31. The newspapers here ridicule the reports from the United States that Britain's non-participation in the San Francisco Exhibition is due to a secret Anglo-German commercial alliance in consequence of the Canal Tolls Act.
Several of the papers suggest that the Government should reconsider the proposed £100,000 grant towards the Exhibition.
