A small area of low pressure passed southward of New Zealand during Monday night, <uid tho gloss has continued to fall in tho North, wiin Increasing' cloudiness and rain in parts. Northerly «nd westerly* winds have prevailed, but have thonged to southerly in tho southernmost districts. to-day's forecast. Present indications are for misty and cloudy weather, with rain and colder conditions generally, with strong westerly winds, changing to •outhcrly, in all ports of the country. The barometer lias a falling tendency sail in the North, but <» rise will probably take place everywhere shortly.
