A scorching north-wetter has been experienced all day, the thermometer in •the city being only a couple .of points short, of 103deg. • There was a cool change to-night.. ,;The. city is ringed with bush fires on the outer suburbs. One at Cabramatla destroyed Hirst's sawmills and damaged the railway line. • (Received December 15, 1.15 a.m.) - Sydney, December 14. " A subsequent'storm disorganised telegraphic communication. There are- bush fires in many parts of the country A wide area in the Blue Mountains is burning, and several valuable residences have been destroyed in the vicinity of Katoomba, the damage running into some thousands of pounds.
