The M'Carthy section of the Irish Party have invited Mr Edward Black, Q.C., Leader of the Canadian Liberal Party, to contest an Irish seat for the House of Commons. Mr Gladstone has declined to include Home Rule for Scotland m the platform of the Liberal Party. Paris, June 14. It is reported that President Carnot will cause a pardon to be extended to Mr Deacon, the American who shot M. Abeille on 14th July. . . -..,-- ■ .
