Markets.

During the last week the weather has been favourable for harvest operations, though it has hardly been warm enough to ripen the crops as quickly as is desirable, and complaints are hoard of wheat ripening in a patchy irregular manner. No quotation has yet been established for the new crop. Horses.—The horse market is not very buoyant, and the late arrivals from Australia do not move off at all readily at remunerative prices. We notice another arrival of 34 per Airedale from Otago, on acccount of Mr. MeClymont, which came in on Sunday evening. At a sale of newly-landed horses held by Mr. Parkinson on Saturday a small number found buyers at an average of about £30, the rest being withdrawn. A horse, trap, and harness realized £60, and.a well-bred mare with foal by her side fetched only £37 10, including saddle and bridle.
