DISTRESS RELIEF FUND

The speech-making to-night at the meeting arranged to organise on behalf of the relief fund for Britain and Belgium will be interspersed with musical and elocutionary items. Besides the clergy of Hawera, Mr. R. W. Shallcrass, general secretary, from Wellington, will address the Mrs. M. J. Goodson and Mr. W. Hutchens will sing, the Rev. E. 0. Blamires will recite, and the Liedertafel quartette will give selections. All who can attend should be' present at this meeting to show their sympathy with the object the promoters have in view. By advertisement in this issue volunteers and veterans entitled to wear uniform are requested to parade in uniform at the Drill Hall at 7.30 o'clock this evening, for the purpose of attending the Distress Relief Fund meeting.
