YOUNG, HOBBS, AND COS STOCK
REPORT.
On Monday, the 10th,' we held a clearing sale in Stratford on behalf of Mr H. G. Tombs, of Huiroa, whose lease has expired. The cows were in low condition and some were backward. We quote: — Springing cows £5 to £6, backward do £2 10s to £4 10s, store cows £2, 2-year-old heifers £1 17s, yearling steeVs £1 6s, calves 13s 6d:
At Eltham, on Wednesday 12th, we Jiad a full yarding and cleared most lines at the hammer or immediately afterwards. The quality of the stock was good, and bidding was animated. We quote: Forward cows £4 to £4 ss, fresh do £2 16s, store do £2 to £2 3s, 2^-year steers £3 14s, 2-year do £2 13s to £2 19s, 2 to 2J-year do £3 8s 6d, yearling heifers 19s, springing heifers £3 15s to £4 4s 6d, springing cows £4 to £5 15s.
At Kaponga, on Friday 14th, we had a good yarding. Bidding was brisk and most lines sold under the hammer at satisfactory prices. We quote: Fresh and forward cows £3 8s £> £4, store and fresh do £2 6s, £2 10s and £2 15s, boners 35s to £2, yearling steers -28s 6d, yearling heifers 11s, 18s and 225, 2-year do 365, springing heifers £3 17s 6d to £4, forward ewes 11s 6d.
