A Transvaal force of Burghers, a thousand strorg, is encamped on the Swaziland border, and has summoned the king of the latter territory to he installed paramount chief, or otherwise be deposed. Two lads aged about 16 years ■walked into a Gore bank and sold a email parcel of gold, receiving £4 13s for it. The Gore Standard on making enquiries learnt that the lads had been working for nearly eight days on a beach of the Mataura near Jlandeville, so that they had made a daily wage of os 6^d. The growth of the Omaha (United States) Woman's Club is phenomenal. Oraganized in May, 1893, at the end of the f-styear it had over 350 members and has now ovor 450, with applications constantly pouring in.
