(Reed, at 10. 15 a.m.) The High Commissioner reports as fellows: — LONDON, June 25th, 3. 25. p.m. In the direction of Zolkview and Lemberg on the evening of Tuesday and the whole of Wednesday, enemy attempts of an ulteror offensive are endeavouring with extraordinary presistence to advance in the direction of the villages of Czijikoreff and Doitrovittze along the railway between Lemberg and Berejany, but thanks to vigorous counter-attacks the attempts failed. On the Zuravno.Demizkovitz front a desperate battle is in progress and is developing at present in the Russians favour. Great German forces crossed to the left of the Dnesiter on Wednesday morning in the Kozary district end suffered enormous losses. They were driven back over the river and forced to assume the offusive under very difficult conditions. Some of their troops were crowded on the islands in the river, others cling- } ing to the left bank. Near Marlnova and Rouzdiamy the Austrians crossed to the left of the I Dneister and were also flung back by a dashing' counter-stroke. Their losses on Wednesday morning were 40 officers and 1700 men cf various regiments, seme prisoners were taken. The enemy are endeavouring to hold the ground and houses close to the rivers and are offering a desperate resistance. Heavy and light artillery effectively support the Russians. In the Kosmierjine district on the Dneister South-East of Nijniov the Russians are taking the offensive. On Tuesday they approached Mount Bezymiamna which is occupied and strongly fortified by the enemy. After digging themselves in the Russians at dawn on Wednesday made an assault on the Mountains. The enemy not earing to face the bayonet attack fell back in disorder on the second line of works. Pressing close on their heels the Russians entered the works and put to the bayonet almost the whole garrison and are holding the hill, 210 prisoners were taken.
