Meagher was found guilty of common assault on Norton and recommended to mercy on the ground of provocation. He was remanded for sentence. (Received November 15, at 0 50 a m. Sydney, November 14. Featherston has relinquished the command of the Oonah and occepted an important position in connection with the local coasting trade. (Received November 15, at 0 45 a m.) Mr Reid states that immediately the Federal resolutions are dealt with by the Council he will communicate with the other colonies to arrange a conference, which will probably be held at the end of January or the beginning of February.
