At Quebec the Hon. James Allen, if New Zealand, had a splendid reception. lie had luncheon with the Canad:in Club. Tlie Lieutenant-Governor md the Mayor were present. Air Allen delivered a stirring speech in defence, stating that New Zealand ivmild place the question above party. Discussing Empire defence in tho Pacific he asked whether Canada was prepared to stand by New Zealand and Australia and endeavour to .solve tlie problem. The question must be answered sooner or later.
