HERTZOG'S ATTACK FAILS
ISY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH —COPYRIGHT. PEE PRESS ASSOCIATION. Capetown, April 30. Air Creswell's motion of no-confi-dence in the Government was rejected by 68 votes, against 41. Air Hertzog (ex-Minister), in a bitter speech, accused General Botha, the Premier, of duplicity, of misrepresentation of facts, and of subverting and abandoning the party. General Botha, in a dignified speech, gave an impassioned and exhaustive reply to the charges. He declined, lie said, to put the country to the expense and inconvenience of i general election merely because Air Hertzog desired to re-enter office.
