BRAZIL NEARER WAR FOOTING
RIO DE JANEIRO, May 18,
President Vargas has authorised the calling up of all reserve arm officers for active duty. This decree, together with another on March 8, increasing the number of the reserves and open enlistments, has placed Brazil closer to a war footing.
