SURVIVORS RESCUED
PERNAMBUCO REPORT!
LONDON, October 3.. A message from Rio de Janeiro says that the United States Embassy there has received a report from the United States Consulate at Recife (Pernambuco) that another American-owned ship sailing under the flag of Panama, a tanker, the I. C. White (7052 tons), has been torpedoed. The report says that 18 survivors were picked up by another ship and are expected to arrive in Rio de Janeiro tomorrow.
