INJURED HEALTH
EXPLOSIONS NOT TO BLAME
Finding that although Michael Gordon Templeton, a contractor, of Wellington, had been negligent in discharging explosive material at the Wellington Public Hospital on April 13 and 15, the explosions had not been the cause of injury to the health of Mary Elizabeth Blanche**' Bradley, a widow, of Penrose Avenue, a jury of four in the Supreme Court yesterday afternoon would not allow Mrs. Bradley's claim for damages, and judgment was entered for the defendant.
Mrs. Bradley, alleging that explosions on the land adjoining her property had caused her shock, and brought about anxiety and a nervous condition, claimer" £275 general damages, £49 10s for loss of wages, and £4 4s medical expenses. She said she had been employed at the nurses' home until April 15, but had been unable to continue in that capacity after the explosions.
Mr. Justice Smith presided. Mr. G. C. Kent appeared for the plaintiff, and Mr. A. J. Mazengarb for the defendant. The. jury retired at 1.7 p.m. and returned at 3.30.
