BEFORE THE WEDDING
FIVE O'CLOCK GIFT PARTY
Tall pink tulips hyacinths, and massed cherry blossom decorated the reception rooms of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Carr's home, Thompson Street, yesterday evening, when Miss Valeric Carr gave a cocktail party for Miss Adrienne Beere, whose marriage to Mr. Neal Instone will take place next Wednesday. Miss Carr was wearing a striking frock of black silk, the white pinafore panel effect on the front being studded with red and green polka dots. Mrs. Carr, who assisted her daughter, was wearing figured lilac and cyclamen silk, and Miss Beere, who received many, charming gifts for her new home, a graceful frock of navy, pink, and blue floral georgette, the ruched bodice, being caught into a panel in the front, and the neckline finished with a diamante clip.
Among the guests were Mrs. H. W.
