NEWCOMERS AT TRENTHAM
Two newcomers are to join R. Penman's team during the course of the next week. They are the two-year-old colt Takahe and th three-year-old filly Little Margot, neither of whom has yet raced. ' Takahe is a bay colt by Lackham from the Robespierre —Bonne Bouche mare La Madelon, a half-sister to Courageous and to Keel Row, the dam of Rebel Lad, and descended from the same family as Star Stranger, Antares, Fulman, Gasbag, Lady Lucy, and other noted stayers. He will be raced by Mr. J. B. Hume, of Masterton, who owns the dam. Little Margot is a bay filly by Resinous (son of Limond), from the Birkdale—Pretty Girl mare Little Thrush, a Maltegarde descendant, and she is full-sister to Little Robin, who has lately been racing promisingly without losing his maiden certificate. She will carry the colours of. Mr. W. 'A. McGregor, of Petone. who purchased her from the estate of the late Mr. J. Dealy.
