MAGISTRATE'S COURT
A sentence of fourteen days' imprisonment was imposed upon Arnold William Reed,, a farmer and salesman, aged 26, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged with the theft of a letter containing a 5s postal note.
John Grendon Phillips, a salesman, aged 45, charged with the theft of £50 in money, the property of Wellington Motors, Ltd., was remanded to appear on October 11. Bail was allowed.
George Richard Sealey, a tiler, aged 32, charged with failure to appear in Australia on indictment for conspiracy •to defraud, was remanded for a week in order to enable the police to procure the original warrant, and also to permit of the arrival of an escort.
