INTOXICATED DRIVfER
A sentence o% ten days' imprisonment was imposed oh Ronald Keith Smith, a jockey, aged 25, of Auckland, when he appeared before Mr. A. M. Gould;ing, S.M., in the Upper Hutt Court toj day on a charge of being intoxicated in charge of a car. He was also ordered !to pay medical expenses. j Evidence was given that the defendant attended a dance at Silverstream on Saturday night. Late in the evening he was warned by the police to keep away from a car he had been driving. ' He disregarded the warning, started the car, and drove it into the main road, where he was stopped and arrested; shortly after midnight. He was convicted and discharged for driving a car without a licence.
