SKIING CONDITIONS NOT GOOD
, (Special to the "Evening Post.") OTAKI, This Day. Some 30 trampers visited the skiing grounds at Kime Hut for the first skiing on the Otaki side of the ranges this winter. Snow was low on the track. Just above Te Moemoe, from Field Hut to Kime, it was over waist deep arid very soft making bheavy travelling for those who broke the trail on Saturday night. Conditions for skiing on Sunday were not good, there being only a short spell of. r sunshine, a very high wind,and the snow, owing to its having fallen in heavy wind, in a poor condition. The return from Kime to Otaki Forks was made in a heavy snowstorm.
