ATLANTIC AIR MAIL
REGULAR SERVICE NEXT YEAR
(British Official Wireless.)
RUGBY, November 23
Despite unavoidable delays necessitating a modification of the programme of transatlantic experimental flights, it is still hoped by the Air Ministry that it will be possible to start a regular air-mail service some time next year.
In the House of Commons the UnderSecretary for Air explained that minor changes that had been found desirable in the Albatross land plane and a delay in the production of Empire flyingboats because of defence requirements had prevented the carrying out of the original programme, and it had been decided to defer the continuation of the experimental flights till more favourable conditions in the spring.
