LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

INTERESTING MEETINGS

The council meeting of the League of Mothers was held at the Wellington Women's Club, T, and G, Building, on Thursday, when the following were present;— Mrs. Charles White (.Dominion president), Lady Elliott, Miss Lorimer, Mrs. S. O. English, Mrs. G. H. Fleming, Mrs. Leslie Wall (Dominion secretary and treasurer), Mrs. S. Harris (assistant secretary>, Mrs. Harvey Turner, and Mr& Letting (Auckland), Mrs, H. H. Cornish, Mrs. p, M, Cameron, Mrs, J. L, Saunder,s, Mrs. R. W. B. Young (Wellington), and Mrs. T. McGregor, and Mrs, W, LDodd (Dunedin).

The twelfth annual report was adopted, each province showing a number of new members, and a good balance-sheet was equally pleasing. Remits from provinces were discussed, various details of policy were studied, and some small alterations in the wording of the constitution were

decided upon. Recommendations from the Dominion executive were presented for ratification,

Mrs, C, White was unanimously reelected president, and the members of the Dominion Council remain unaltered.

The delegates thanked Mrs, White for her able presidency, and also for her hospitality, the delegates? having been her guests at lunch and tea.

The council resumed on Friday at Mrs. White's residence to discuss business connected with the league magazine. Miss Lorimer read ail inspiring message from Miss Richmond tracing the history of the magazine; and Mrs. Saunders presented her business report.

The magazine committee was complimented on its efficiency, and on the admirable results of its work,

A beautiful basket of flowers was presented to Mrs. White as an appreciation from the members of thte council by Mrs. English; and flowers were also -given to Mrs. Leslie Wall by Mrs. McGregor.

In the afternoon the delegates and members of the Wellington provincial committee were the guests of Lady Elliott at "Lareston," Silverstream.
