THE KING AND QUEEN
DEPRESSED AREAS VISITED
LONDON, July 14.
The King and Queen, after a night train journey, began, a two-day 250----mile tour of Monmouthshire and South Wales today, • starting at -Ncwp'ort, where the King cut the first sod from the ground for a new civic centre.
Their Majesties went to Cardiff by car, where they walched a display in the park by 8000 children, and fulfilled other engagements.
Then they went to Swansea, passing through a number of depressed areas, including Pontypridd, Mountain Ash, and Aberdarc.
After tea their Majesties will inspect the famous Brangwyn Panels of the Swansea Guildhall, and then entrain for Aberystwyth, where their tour will be resumed in the morning.
