STRONG TEAM
SCOTTISH ACQUISITIONS
LONDON, July 14,
In Scotland's team to meet the New Zealand cricketers at Glasgow, commencing on Saturday, there has been a notable departure from the usual practice of picking an all-tartan eleven, the selectors having included MitchellInncs Gibb, Peebles, and Baxter. The "Referee" says:—"Normally Scotland's chances are not worth two small hoots, but the home team will be very strong with the inclusion of four AngloScotsmen." Mr. E. J. Smith, Warwickshire, and Mr. W. Reeves, Essex, have been appointed umpires for the second Test, commencing at Manchester on Saturday week.
