PAHIATUA CONTEST
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
PAHIATUA, This Day.
Mr. C. Holmes Miller, of Ngaturi, who several weeks ago announced himself as an Independent candidate for the Pahiatua seat, has now withdrawn from the field, leaving Sir Alfred Ransom (Nationalist) and Mr. R. A. Gower (Labour).
Mr. Miller stated that his withdrawal was influenced by the possibility of his efforts assisting in the return of the present member. He also feared that his own political views were such that he had' little faith, of their being accepted in a somewhat conservative constituency.
