LAMB MARKET FIRM

The market for frozen lamb in London is firm, but prices are unchanged according to the weekly cable received by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board. Competition continues to be satisfactory. Trade in wether and ewe mutton is slow, with prices unchanged. The beef market is affected by the low prices for chilled beef. The market for New Zealand porker pigs is dull owing to hot weather. The market for baconers is steady and unchanged. The approximate average wholesale prices for the week, with those for the previous week in parentheses, are:—
