GOOD LAMBS OFFERED

Dalgety and-Co., Ltd., report a heavy yarding of all classes of sheep and a full yarding of cattle at the Feilding sale on Friday. Fat lambs were forward in largo numbers with exceptional quality amongst them. The sale was good and satisfactory prices were received. Fat ewes and wethers were penned in slightlylarger numbers, but here again competition was good, and the market recovered to its previous level. Breeding ewes were penned in larger numbers, and several outstanding lines were sold under very keen competition. We submitted a special entry on account of Hannah Estate— l and 6-tooth ewes selling at 32s 9d, mixed age ewes at 32$ 2d, and 4-year ewes at 31s Bd. Also Holden's Estate sold 4 and 5-year ewes from 24s 9d to 25s sd. There was a large attendance of public in this section, and the demand for breeding ewes is still unsatisfied. Store lambs were penned in slightly larger numbers; the quality was good and prices were satisfactory to venders. ■ -

Dairy cattle were in heavy supply, and genuine lines sold readily at a slightly better figure. Beef showed an increase in prices owing to the smaller yarding. The New Zealand Farmers' Co-op. Dis-tributing-Co., Ltd., report on the Feilding. sale. A yarding of 4000 fat lambs was submitted, the quality for the most part being - better than at late sales. Prime lines sold at. slightly increased rates. Light and plain wele easier. Fat sheep showed a drop of Is per head.. Breeding ewes were in strong demand. • Values appreciated by 2s over last sale. A feature ot the sale was a line of 500 ewe hoggets offered by Mr. J. Linklater, M.P. These met with keen competition and realised 26s 6d.
