CHILLED BEEF PROSPECTS.
Queensland is pleased with the success of the shipment of chilled beef on the Idomeneus, and the Brisbane Abattoir plans to send an additional 18,000 quarters to-the London market.before the end of the year.
This announcement;, was made by the chairman of the Meat Industry Board (Mr E. F. Sunners), who said the Commonwealth veterinary officers'* report confirmed that the technical processes employed at the Brisbane. Abattoir in preparation of the Idoineneus beef shipment had been a complete success. A further series of experimental shipments ranging over a year should enable the completion of the data required for launching the trade upon a commercial basis, though the research laboratories, of course, would be continued.'1
