LYALL BAY SCHOOL
The monthly meeting.; of the' executive committee of the tyall' Bay Home and School Association was.held on Tuesday evening. •'■ The president, Mr. F. W. Boyd, was in the, chair. " A letter wag received from Mr. Chun' Yuen Tai, Chinese entertainer, offering to stage an entertainment for the school funds, which it was decided to accept1, and the secvetary •was authorised to arrange a date. . It was also decided to hold-.'a dance" in the Katea Hall early .next month. Appreciation was expressed. o£ the. donatioij of a hand-worked-throw-over by' Miss C. Pye. The president aud Mrs. D. W. Olson were authorised- to carry out alterations to the furnishings of'the teachers' room in the upper- school. Mr.-H. M. Harris, • chairman of the School Committee, reported on the negotiations of his committee with the Education-Board for increased accommodation to the existing portable classroom, and he was assured of the wholehearted support of the association in any future action deemed necessary. The night of meeting of the executive was altered to the second Tuesday in ■•every month.
