RIVER BOARD RATES
REDUCTION BY 10 PER CENT.
The Ifinanuo Committee of the Ilutc Kivor Board (Messrs. C. Gostelow and J. Mitchell) imported on Tuesday "... that it has been found possible to iccomniend a reduction in the special Kites for all classes ' equivalent to amounts ranging from 3s 9d downwaids for each £1000 of jateablo values and tho same general late as last year. The reduction in tho rates will bo more than sufficient to cover tho extra rate which will'be' necessary for tho pioposed £.6000 loan. ..." The estimates iov the year 1931-32 show estimated receipts of £7039, as against £7553 fo.r last year, and an expenditure of i£7030, as against £579,6 last year. The general rate will bo 13-100ths of a Id in tno &, and is estimated to produce £3289. This lato is the b^mo a,s last year's, but a reduction has -been made in the special r.ites, which on post properties "will reprosont a lcd&etiou of 10 per cent..
